His Father’s Voice is a four-piece from Limerick that injects a fresh personality into a blend of post-punk and shoegaze, mixed with vocals steeped in a compellingly melodic pop sensibility. His Father’s Voice began with Ash O’Connor and James Reidy as a song-writing project in 2014. His Father’s Voice recruited drummer Cathal Ryan and bassist Laya Meabhdh Kenny to add a new dimension to their live performances. These live performances quickly gained the band a reputation, which lead to a recent support slot for Cherry Glazerr in Whelan’s. His Father’s Voice showcased their work in 2018 through a number of local live shows with the backing of the DIY LK music scene.
The self-recorded ‘Context and Perspective’ EP with the supporting single ‘No Room for Romantics’ is currently available on streaming services.
