Swan Lake The Game is a remix of the famous Russian ballet with a very modern twist, in the form of an online and offline event. Hosted in a unique virtual theatre environment (the NITE hotel) – its virtual doors open to host the digital version of the performance.
This immersive experience brings you into the story as never before. Together yet apart from other spectators, you move through the digital theatre space, from act to act, as a damselfly.
The multi-talented cast of the performance each performs their own solo, but together they create the unique narrative of Swan Lake. Nothing stays as it was in this Swan Lake, including the eclectic music of multi-talented Georgian/Swiss Kordz who lets the musicians go all out with the famous sounds of Tchaikovsky.
Influenced by themes and music from the classic fairytale ballet, Swan Lake is a performance about our desire to escape into a perfect fairy-tale world and the danger of losing touch with reality. The term black swan is used to denote an economic phenomenon that was impossible to predict but nevertheless has a huge effect on the system.
How should we proceed now that the combined black swan of Covid-19 and the climate crisis has upended our fairy-tale democratic, liberal consumer’s paradise?
Will we start a new story together?
How do we want this fairytale to end?
